Hyderabad: DRI nabs passenger smuggling gold worth Rs. 3.45 crore at RGIA

Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) caught a passenger who was smuggling gold at RGI Airport Shamshabad and seized 3.5 kilograms of gold from him.
The foreign origin gold was being handed over to the ground handling staff at the RGI Airport by the alleged smuggler when on a tip off the DRI caught him. The gold was supported to be handed over to another ground handling staff member outside the airport.
The DRI seized 30 gold bars valued at Rs. 3, 45,79,300 and took into custody the passenger and two ground staffers. A case is registered.
