One passenger killed, 19 others injured as TGSRTC bus hits auto in Telangana’s Adilabad

The incident occurred when the bus driver reportedly tried to avoid collision with cows moving on a road, resulting in overturning of the vehicle

Adilabad: A passenger died on the spot, while 19 others sustained injuries when a TGSRTC bus hit an auto-rickshaw at Kokasmannur village in Echoda mandal on Thursday.
Police said that a passenger of the RTC bus died on the spot when the driver tried to avoid collision with cows moving on a road, resulting in overturning of the bus. Passengers in the bus and auto-rickshaw sustained injuries. Identity of the deceased passenger was yet to be established.
The injured passengers were rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad. Four cows were also killed in the mishap. Upon receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and took up rescue operations. Medical condition of some of the injured people was said to be critical. The bus was heading to Nirmal from Adilabad at the time of the accident. Movement of the cattle was suspected to be the cause of the mishap.
