Elderly couple found murdered in Hyderabad; Gold chain missing, police suspect robbery

Hyderabad: A couple was allegedly murdered by unknown persons at Suryanagar in Alwal on Saturday night.
The victims, Kanakiah, who worked as a watchman, and his wife Rajamma, a housewife, stayed at Suryanagar in Alwal. They are staying for the last six months at Suryanagar. Due to health issues, Kanakiah was not attending work and stayed at home.
On Saturday evening, I went to the house of his daughter who stays in the neighbourhood and returned home.
According to the police, on Sunday morning the relatives came to the house of the elderly couple after Rajamma did not go to her relatives house to get a milk packet. On checking the rooms, they found the couple dead in the house. The body of Rajamma, bore injuries and a stick was lying in the house. The family members told the police that a gold chain worn by Rajamma, was also missing from the house.
The Alwal police registered a case of murder and are investigating.
