Thunderstorms lash Hyderabad, surrounding districts on Sunday

Hyderabad: Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, gusty winds and hailstorms lashed parts of core Hyderabad and its surrounding districts on Sunday evening.
Moderate rains lasting up to 10 to 15 minutes along with thunder and gusty winds, were reported in parts of Tellapur, Serilingampally, Miyapur, Gachibowli, Nanakramguda, Narsingi and BHEL were reported at the local weather stations of Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS).
By Sunday evening, a majority of the rainfall activity was witnessed in Rangareddy district including Serilingampally, RC Puram Patancheru and Amberpet mandals. While a majority of all these areas have received anywhere from 4.3 mm of rainfall to 2 mm of rainfall by Saturday afternoon, the maximum temperatures across multiple locations had witnessed a significant drop.
The thunderstorms are expected to spread to other parts of Hyderabad by Sunday evening. According to IMD-Hyderabad, thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected to continue in Hyderabad for the next 24-hours.
