Telangana: Congress government constitutes a three men committee for deliberations with employee unions

Telangana government formed a three-member Officers’ Committee, chaired by Navin Mittal, to address employee unions’ issues after strike threats. It will consult associations, examine grievances, and submit a report within a week

Hyderabad: After employee associations announced their strike plans, the State government on Tuesday constituted a three-member Officers’ Committee to discuss employee unions long-pending issues.

The Committee has been directed to complete its deliberations and submit a report to the government with a week. The government had constituted a Cabinet Sub Committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka last year. However, the employee unions charged that the Cabinet Sub Committee had not conducted a single meeting with them. Accordingly, they had announced their strike plans on Sunday.

To address the employees’ issues, the government constituted the Officers Committee with Revenue Principal Secretary Navin Mittal as its chairman. PRRD Secretary Lokesh Kumar and TGTRANSCO CMD Krishna Bhaskar are members of the committee.

It has been directed to hold consultations with recognized employee associations and other stakeholders on welfare measures and grievances. The committee is instructed to identify, categorise and examine the pending issues flagged by the associations and submit a consolidated report with specific and viable recommendations to the government.
