Kothagudem: ACB sleuths have arrested an SCCL employee on the charges of collecting huge amounts of cash promising jobs and transfers in the company.

Speaking to the media, Khammam ACB range DSP Y Ramesh here on Tuesday informed that the accused Annaboina Rajeshwar Rao, who works as a driver in the company, was taken into custody and questioned. He would be produced before the third additional sessions judge for SPE and ACB cases, Warangal on Wednesday.


The DSP informed that the accused for the past three years has been collecting money from gullible employees who applied for transfers and medical invalidation to get their work done. In doing so he has been using the names of senior officials claiming acquaintance with them.

In addition to that he also collected money from job aspirants whenever job notifications were issued by the SCCL. The company vigilance department had conducted an enquiry into his dealings and interacted with individuals with whom the accused had financial dealings.

It was found that he had collected an amount of Rs 32 lakhs so far through bank transactions and other means of money exchange. Following which the SCCL management has lodged a complaint with the ACB, which registered a case against the accused.

ACB officials also spoke to the individuals who paid money to Rajeshwar Rao and verified his money transactions. The amount he collected was likely to go up. An enquiry being conducted to find out whether there were any others who acted as accomplices to the accused in the matter, the DSP Ramesh said. It is the ninth case ACB registered in erstwhile Khammam so far this year.
