Fourteen Maoist cadres surrender before Kothagudem police

Speaking to the media Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju informed that there were three female Maoists among the surrendered Maoists

Kothagudem: As many as fourteen cadres of CPI (Maoist) party surrendered before Kothagudem SP, CRPF 81 Bn and 141 BN officials here on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju informed that there were three female Maoists among the surrendered Maoists. Of the 14 Maoists, there were two ACMs, four party members, three militia members, one KAMS member and four VCMs.


Sodi Budra of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh and Kalama Idime alias Radhika of Cherla in Kothagudem district were the area committee members of PLGA 10th of South Gadchiroli DVC of Maharashtra and Wazedu-Venkatapuram Area Committee.

Except for Kalama Idime all other surrendered naxalites were from Chhattisgarh State. They decided to surrender to police as they were impressed with the welfare and development activities being implemented by Telangana police and the government, the SP said.

Steps would be taken to extend all the benefits the government offers to the Maoists who surrendered to police and want to live a peaceful life. Since January- 2025 as many as 227 Maoists of different ranks have surrendered before Kothagudem police and CRPF officials, the SP said.

Bhadrachalam ASP Vikrant Kumar Singh, CRPF officials Kamal Veer Yadav and RS Sharma were present. SP Rohith Raju handed over cash incentives to the surrendered Maoists.
