Suryapet; Two shepherds drowned in a well near Huzurnagar town on Friday. The victims, identified as Shekhar, 14, and Lakshman, 21, from Narayanpet district, were camping in the area for grazing their sheep, as they did during the summer months every year. According to reports, Shekhar started to learn swimming in the local water bodies a few days ago. He ventured into the well again today to continue practicing.
As he was found drowning, Lakshman also jumped into the well to rescue him. In a panic, Shekhar clung to Lakshman, making it difficult for either of them to stay afloat. Unfortunately, both drowned in the process. A rescue team arrived at the scene on the request of the local people, retrieved the bodies.
