Kothagudem: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy took a dig at government officials for their alleged laxity in implementing government programmes.

Srinivas Reddy, speaking at a review meeting after launching development works in Aswaraopet Assembly constituency, said it was 16 months since the formation of the government, but officials were yet to work in accordance with the government’s ideas. Officials have to comply with the government’s ideas and focus on implementing programmes for the welfare of common people.

It was the responsibility of officials and employees to execute government programmes at the field level. The officials should take suggestions from the local MLAs for the development of the constituencies, he said.

Bhatti Vikramarka warned that if the officials neglected the government’s welfare schemes, the government would be forced to take strict decisions. The government was formed by giving promises to three and a half crore people and it was the responsibility of everyone to maintain their trust.

The State government was planning to resolve the problems of employees and steps in that direction would be taken in a few days. The government officials should strive to have their share in the success of the government, Vikramarka suggested.
