Hyderabad: CSIR-IICT Hosts National Technology Day 2025 and ASTC Annual Convention

Hyderabad: Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), in collaboration with the Academy for Science, Technology and Communication (ASTC) and National Academy of Sciences, (NASI) Hyderabad Chapter, celebrated National Technology Day 2025 and the ASTC Annual Convention at IICT on Sunday.
In his address, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma expressed hope that CSIR institutions would undertake pathbreaking work in the service of society. Delivering the ASTC Foundation lecture on “Gut Microbiome – The Science & Application,” Chairman, AIG Hospitals, Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy, highlighted gut microbiome’s influence on immunity, metabolism, and overall health.
The event featured the release of the latest issue of ASTC Communications, felicitation of contributing authors, and presentation of the ASTC Awards in the categories of Science Popularization, Excellence Awards in Science and Technology, and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Dr. D. Srinivasa Reddy, Director, IICT, and Dr. S. Venkata Mohan, Director, NEERI and former Chief Scientist at IICT received excellence awards in Science and Technology.
Dr. Vinay Kumar Nandicoori, Director, CCMB, Dr. Prakash Kumar, Director, NGRI, Dr. Ch. Mohan Rao, Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council–ASTC and NASI Hyderabad Chapter, C. L. Narasimha Rao, Secretary, ASTC Hyderabad were present.
