Telangana: Weaver dies by suicide in Dubbak

Siddipet: A weaver, who was reportedly in deep financial trouble, was found hanging in Dubbak town on Monday.
Gorityala Balaraj (48), who had been into weaving for the last three decades, had quit the profession a year ago since he could not earn a reasonable income.
While Balaraju was working as a daily wager, his wife left for Hyderabad with their three children where she was working in an factory. Balaraju, who borrowed Rs 5 lakh from various sources to meet his needs, is said to have decided to end life as they insisted for repayment of the loans.
Balaraj was a member of Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society, Dubbak. His colleague weavers said the plight of Balaraju’s family reflected that of every weaver in Dubbak.
