Hyderabad: A CME program to provide training to nurses and laboratory technicians on the latest developments in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia was conducted by Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) on Tuesday.
A panel discussion on “Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia – Diagnosis and Management”, was led by Dr. Suman Jain, Secretary, TSCS, Ratnavalli Kotapalli, vice-president, TSCS and Dr. K Saroja, Medical Officer, TSCS.
Another session “Basic Genetics of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia” saw Dr. V. Sandhya, Pediatric Hematologist and Oncologist, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, and Dr. Mamatha, a research scientist in participation.
Dr. Banoth Sathyavathi, Deputy DM&HO, Keesara Division, Malkajgiri, emphasized the importance of empowering nurses and lab technicians with knowledge about blood disorders.
