Three injured in stabbing incident in Telangana’s Jagtial

Jagtial: Three youngsters were injured in a stabbing incident during birthday celebrations held in Lingampet of Jagtial on Thursday.


According to local people, Arvind, Vamshi and Gangadhar of Anthergam were attacked with knives by two others from the same village over a dispute. The injured persons were shifted to the Jagtial government hospital.

The condition of Gangadhar is said to be serious. Police have begun investigation after registering a case.


Human trafficking gang busted in Hyderabad, two arrested

Hyderabad: Two members of a human trafficking gang were arrested by the RGI Airport police on Thursday. The arrested persons are Chilukuri Balaji (43) and Sunkara Shiva Kumar (30), both residents of Andhra Pradesh.

According to the police, Balaji, and Shiva Kumar along with two others – Satyanarayana and Anji, were sending women illegally to Gulf countries to work at different places. “Instead of routing the workers through the Protector of Emigrants, the gang was sending them on tourist visits by forging documents and collecting money from them,” said ACP Shamshabad, Srikanth Goud.

On a complaint made by a woman victim, the police registered a case and arrested Balaji and Shiva Kumar while the prime suspects Satyanarayana and Anji are absconding.


Elderly man duped by cyber fraudsters in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 77-year-old retired government employee from the city became the latest victim of a cyber-fraud when searching online for a washing machine repair service.

As per available information, the elderly man called a number he found on Google, spoke to a technician, and received a suspicious link. Although he did not open the link, his phone was hacked shortly after.

On May 12, the victim discovered that a total of Rs 1.6 lakh had been debited from his bank account. He immediately reported the incident to the bank, which blocked his account.

Based on his complaint, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police have booked a case and took up investigation.


Hyderabad father kills new born child

Hyderabad: In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly killed his new-born child over a dispute with his wife at their house in Golconda on Thursday.

The man identified as Jagath Kumar, a native of Nepal, who is working as a security guard for an apartment in Golconda, had an argument with his wife over a trivial matter, which led to the murder.

Due to the argument, in a furious state, Jagath Kumar grabbed a knife and slit the throat of their 14-day-old baby girl. The infant suffered grievous bleeding injuries and died on the spot, police officials said.

The Golconda police visited the spot and took up investigation. Jagath was taken into custody. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.


Woman tries to end life along with children in Hyderabad lake

Hyderabad: Allegedly upset over family disputes, a woman threw her three children into the water and then died by suicide in the lake at Narapally, Medipally on Thursday. While the woman and a child died, two others were rescued.

Available information indicates that K. Sujatha (32), a resident of Narapally, had been in dispute with her husband, Kumar, a private employee in Hyderabad, for the past few days. Sources suggest the couple frequently argued over minor issues and faced financial difficulties.

On Thursday, upset after an argument, Sujatha took her three daughters to a nearby lake and she is believed to have first pushed the children into the lake and then jumped into it to end her life.

The locals who noticed them immediately rushed to their rescue. However, Sujatha and her daughter Varshini (6) drowned. Other children were rescued and shifted to the nearby hospital.


Five arrested in Hyderabad’s KPHB murder case

Hyderabad: The KPHB police solved the brutal murder case of K Venkata Ramana (32), which was reported on Sunday and arrested five persons including a juvenile boy for the killing on Thursday.

Officials said the attack was planned and executed brutal murder. The arrested persons are P Ayyappa Swamy alias Pavan (27), a native of Andhra Pradesh, G Shiva Rama Krishna (20), R Anil (19) N Sai Kumar (20) and the juvenile.

According to the police, Ayyappa Swamy, bore a grudge against Venkata Ramana over the latter marrying the girl whom he loved in the past. He was very upset over it and sought the help of his brother-in-law Shiva Rama Krishna for the murder.

As per their plan on May 11, Ayyappa Swamy who had been keeping a close watch on the movements of the victim, created nuisance near the victim’s house. When the victim came out, Ayyappa Swamy stabbed him to death with a knife.


Three lab technicians, student held for selling sedative drug in Telangana’s Nirmal

Nirmal: Three lab technicians and a student were arrested for allegedly selling a sedative drug, Midazolam, in different parts of the town here on Thursday. Police seized 26 vials of Midazolam, four mobile phones and 10 syringes from the four.

Briefing details of the arrests, Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila said that Shaik Fardeen, Chawan Govind, Mohd Abdul Danish, lab technicians and Mohd Parvej, a student, all from different parts of the town, were apprehended while administering injections of the drug to youngsters, following a tip-off.

On being interrogated, the four confessed to learning about the drug by watching videos on YouTube three years ago They were charging Rs 500 per customer for the drug and shared the profits.
