Telangana: Focus on export variety of mangoes, farmers told at Sangareddy expo

Huge number of people visited the expo to see the rare varieties of mangoes put on display

Over 250 mangoes put on exhibition at fruit research station in Sangareddy on Friday.
Sangareddy: The district Additional Collector B Chandrashekhar asked the mango farmers to raise export varieties of mangoes so that they can earn more profits on their produce.
Addressing the farmers after inaugurating a mango expo at fruit research station (FRS) in Sangareddy on Friday, the Additional Collector asked the officials to find out the issues in raising the export variety of mangoes and guide the farmers.
He said that the agricultural and processed food products export development authority (APED) will provide linkage to farmers who would raise export quality mangoes.
The FRS has put over 250 varieties of mangoes grown by them in FRS. They have educated the farmers on best management practices of mango.
The scientists also sensitised on the marketing of their produce, saying that the marketing is equally important to earn profits. A huge number of people from Sangareddy and Hyderabad visited the expo to see the rare varieties of mangoes put on display.
