Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan found fault with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for evading a visit to Gulzar Houz where a fire accident killed 17 people on Sunday. He said while people died and their families mourned, Revanth Reddy remained occupied with a beauty pageant in the city.
In a statement, Sravan questioned priorities of the Chief Minister who also holds the key portfolios of Home and Municipal Administration. “Is this what he calls Praja Palana (people’s governance)? The Chief Minister is barely 10-15 km away, yet he did not show the decency to visit the site and console grieving families who trusted him with power,” he said, calling it not just administrative failure but cold-blooded apathy.
He pointed out that even AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge had to intervene and call Revanth Reddy for a review, while the Chief Minister remained unmoved. “Has power blinded him to human suffering? Has arrogance of authority replaced his empathy?” he asked.
The BRS MLC charged Revanth Reddy with chasing cameras over compassion, publicity over people, and fashion over flames of tragedy. He asked whether the State needs such a Chief Minister who has no heart, accountability or conscience. “Revanth Reddy has failed not just as a Chief Minister, but as a human being,” he remarked.
