Yemen vows to give ‘painful response’ to Israeli attacks

Yemen has condemned the Israeli regime’s repeated attacks against the country’s ports, saying those attacks will be met with a painful response.

Yemen’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday that the repeated targeting of Yemeni ports is evidence of the Zionist entity’s abject failure to achieve its goals.

The statement condemned the international community’s complete silence regarding the Zionist aggression.

It called on the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad to adopt a strong position in support of the Palestinian people.

This came after the Israeli regime launched attacks against the three Yemeni ports of Ras Isa, Salif, and Al-Hudaydah.

According to Israeli media, the strikes conducted by at least 15 warplanes were aimed at imposing an economic siege on the Arab country.

Separately, Yemeni official Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threat of assassinating the Ansarullah leader, Abdul Malik Al-Houthi, saying those who failed in Gaza will fail in Yemen and will not achieve any accomplishment.

He said Netanyahu and his war minister are selling illusions and buying time to achieve goals that can never be achieved.

Yemen’s Armed Forces have carried out pro-Gaza operations and enforced a naval blockade on Israeli ships and vessels sailing towards the territories since October 2023.

The blockade came in response to the regime’s launching an overwhelmingly deadly war of genocide on the Gaza Strip, and simultaneously escalating its already stringent siege of the Palestinian territory.

Earlier in May, the Yemeni servicemen began imposing a comprehensive aerial blockade on the regime, too, warning international airlines to suspend flights to airports in the occupied territories to ensure passenger safety.
