Hyderabad: Mumbai Indians pacer Deepak Chahar said that they were playing good cricket as a unit and everybody was in form which also meant the team had the confidence in everyone.
In the post-match briefing after Mumbai drubbed Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur to record its sixth straight win to top the points table, Chahar said it was good to be on the top as the team would get an extra chance even as others would also love to move to the top.
“I think the momentum is with us and as a player and as a team you focus on the particular game, winning and losing is the end result and you focus on the game and match to match. So obviously the momentum is with us and we’re focusing on the next game now,” the star pacer said.
“As a bowler when you’re bowling with world class partners. I think it becomes easy for you because as a bowler if you have a bad over and then that bad over is backed by a brilliant over or a wicket then it’s an easy job for me again to come and bowl to the new batter,” he explained on bowling in tandem with someone like left-arm pacer Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah.
“So bowling with world class bowlers, those who have consistently done well in international cricket and IPL obviously helps me and when you bowl as a bowling unit it becomes difficult for the other team also,” Chahar said.
On Rajasthan’s young talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the Mumbai pacer said he was a good talent and would do well in the future.
On Mumbai’s replacement Raghu Sharma for Vignesh Puthur, Chahar said Mumbai Indians always promoted youth and that it would be the call of the captain and the management on who should play. “Raghu is a good bowler and I’ve played him in the nets. He has a lot of variation in his experience. If he plays, I think he’ll do well in the IPL,” the pacer said.
