Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem delivered a televised speech on Monday.
At the start of the speech, the Hezbollah leader said that “My speech today tackles Lebanon’s renaissance and the upcoming municipal elections.”
According to him, Lebanon’s renaissance requires three priorities: The first priority stipulates that the Israeli enemy must stop its aggression, withdraw from Lebanon and release the prisoners; It’s the Lebanese State’s duty to follow up on the ceasefire deal by pressing the agreement’s sponsors; The third priority that we emphasize on is to rebuild the State
He noted that ‘Israel’ has violated the ceasefire for more than 3,000 times and this number can’t be tolerated. Meanwhile, he said that Hezbollah has been fully committed to the ceasefire agreement and has facilitated the deployment of the Lebanese Army.
Sheikh Naim Qassem called on the Lebanese government to summon the US envoy to protest heinous Israeli crimes.
He said that the Zionist entity and the US are seeking to change status quo and create new equations in Lebanon.
He asked the Beirut government to more actively pursue people’s demands to end Israeli aggression, saying that ” It’s the Lebanese State’s right to extend authority, but its duty is to defend its citizens.”
“Let’s finish the debate on justifying the Israeli aggression, Israel doesn’t need pretexts to attack Lebanon.”
Israel wanted to control Lebanon through building settlements in south, he warned.
“Netanyahu is in a dire situation; He does not know from where he has been slapped,” Qassem further asserted.
“We won’t give up our strength, the strength of Lebanon, its army and its State,” according to the Hezbollah leader.
“Lebanon won’t rise unless we all work together, we extend our hand and hope for cooperation,” he said, adding that “We facilitated electing new president and forming a new government, we go ahead with the course of building the State.”
Sheikh Qassem went on to say that “We support the Lebanese president with the three priorities of stopping the Israeli attacks, reconstruction and building the State.”
Hezbollah’s Sheikh Qassem concluded by urging a high turnout to the upcoming municipal elections.
